The Reverend Ann Schoonover, a 2006 graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary, is ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament (“Teaching Elder”) in the PCUSA. Her family observes that she is always reading “God books”.
Prior to serving Covenant Church, she served as a chaplain in a medical center, behavioral health and hospice/palliative and home healthcare settings. (She continues to serve a local hospice.) She has received training and certificates from Good Shepherd Mediation program (basic and elder mediation) and from the Oasis Ministries program for spiritual direction. Her experience includes working with individuals, families and other groups in spiritual direction, facilitation of bereavement groups, and journeying with individuals and families facing end-of-life concerns and grief. She offers both individual and group spiritual direction. Her first career, as an agent in the Philadelphia regional office of the NLRB, afforded opportunities to serve as a hearing officer in administrative law proceedings, engage in investigations, legal research, negotiate settlements of disputes, and effect compliance. (Ann obtained a BA in Labor Studies from Penn State University, with minors in anthropology and linguistics).
Ann is married to arbitrator/mediator Tim Brown. Their son Robert attends TCNJ where he participates in club ice hockey and lacrosse; their daughter Audrey plays high school varsity field hockey and lacrosse. Ann enjoys preaching, music, and studying dance.
